Partial lockdown to be imposed in Andhra Pradesh for 2 weeks

Lockdown-like restrictions will be in place in Andra Pradesh starting on May 5th of 2021.


Amaravathi: – The Andra Pradesh government has decided to impose a ” partial curfew ” across the state starting may 5th of 2021 for 2 weeks to curb the recent surge of covid-19 cases.


Lockdown-like restrictions will be in Andra Pradesh from 12 noon to 6 am. Also, read-partial Lockdown to be imposed in Andra Pradesh for 2 weeks.

Shops would be allowed to open daily from 6 am to 12 noon, with prohibitory orders under section 144 crpc in force.
Andra Pradesh Lockdown! Curfew was ordered in West Godavari district, Anantapur under complete Lockdown.
After 12 pm, only emergency services would be allowed as curfew would be clamped till 6 am.


Chief Minister y. s Jagan Mohan reddy announced this decision at a high-level- covid review meeting on May 3rd, official sources said.



For the past few days, the night curfew from 10 pm to 5 am is in force in the state to contain covid-19.
But with the number of cases growing in record numbers daily, the chief minister decided to impose further restrictions to break the chain, the sources said.


India to reach ” peak ” of second covid wave:
Research saying that India should not be complacent as it’ll reach the peak of the second wave as this could lead to a widespread increase in infection as has happened in the current wave.

The second coronavirus wave peak in India will come around mid-may ( around 20 days from now) with active cases reaching around 36 lakhs. As state going for partial Lockdowns.

Based on others countries experiences, might reach its second peak when the recovery rate will be 77.8% . Given that every 1% reduction in recovery takes around 4.5 days, it translates into around 20 days from now.

The SBI report adds that india should not be complacent as it’ ll reach the peak of the second wave as this could lead to a widespread increase in infection as has happened in the current wave .


The share of death of below 50 years in cumulative deaths is quite high at 13.6% in the second wave, which shows the mutant virus is highly impacting india’s population that has not been vaccinated to date.


The report says various states are expected to reach their peak around the national peak date, indicating the worst could be hopefully over by the 3rd week of May.
